Dublin 1.

I promised in my previous post that I write soon about my experience of the restaurant, but it seems to be needed to skip that topic because of my irish days.

So I'm such a lucky girl again that I got to Dublin, the heart of the emerald island. Before the journey started I was so excited, I have planed to visit this and that etc.
Now I came to know a bit more about the real irish daily life, I decided to share my experience here.

Its started yesterday, I determined to discover the city alone as much as I can, but first searching for a map. I was begging to my boyfriend for one, but his iphone went dead so I thought its a good idea if I follow the crowd. The only problem was that the streets were empty. I did know it's not a big city but come on...hmm, maybe everyone is working, it's new for me after the netherlands ( sry guys :D ) anyway, i tried to get to the sympatic and wide streets so finally I led up to one of the biggest shopping street. Meanwhile, I was also busy with making memories of the endless snow, thus I shot a few pics - which I'm gonna post later and maybe at my picasa album. Truely, something is always coming from the sky. I couldn't believe it. I realised it was fun sitting at the university and chatting during the lectures because the speech of the professor was useless and boring, instead of talking about China's coal production year by year, he could have taught us the different types of precipitate so that I could recognize what was dropping down today. Eventually, I identified it as tiny, hard snowballs - after 3 years geography bachelor program, thx ELTE :D...Anyway, after a while I got used to walk on 10 cm ice and have been hit by the cute snowballs. After the shopping street, I checked some shops if they might have a map. The first one which I went into was a pretty nice grocer, so I bravely asked the shop assistant about it. After a few questions turned out he came also from HUN. LOL. how small the world is... he told me where I am but he didnt have any maps... I kept seeking. During my unexpected walking tour, I also had time to estimate the locals faces and environment. Here they speak the version of english what I hardly understand. Its fun when you're listening to them, but annoying when it come to have to answer back. Nevermind...
About the city: as a capital city I expected a bit more attractive place with amazing and unique buildings, statues and narrow, nice side streets like in Budapest. Well, here you can everywhere find the same structure of brick houses which seem to be dingy and old. Honestly I have been made to feel like in broken-down-looking part of Budapest. But I didn't give up, I was still waiting for a marvellous district of the upper crust. vain. So I went dissappointed to the nearest pub and got totally drunk by 5 pints of guiness.
:)
Actually, I already got a few advice/suggestion so I was well-prepared, and my personal meeting to the home of real bier wasnt that disappointing. I heard its really similar to Buapest: homeless people sitting in the street in the neighborhood of dirt and rubbish. But it's okay

to be continued...
